BLOOM SERIES
Red tulip. Yellow sunflower. Purple orchid. Pink honeysuckle.
Thinking of flowers is thinking in color.

The structure of the blossom is as beautiful to me as the color that first catches the eye. BLOOM is the result of my experiment in proximity, scale,
and light on form.

These drawings are made with very sharp graphite pencils. The subtlety and simplicity of the medium enhances my focus on form. Modifications in
size and hue allow me to forget what I know about the blooms and consider their essential abstracted shapes.
